Terms of Service
Effective [DATE] · Version 1.0
The short version
Rally puts you in a small group with other people going to the same event, so you can go together. We are not a ticket seller, an event organiser or a dating service.
You must be 18 or over, and you must buy your ticket from the seller (for example Ticketmaster, Skiddle or Eventbrite) under that seller's terms.
Matching costs a one-off fee of £5 per event (or the amount shown at checkout). You get it back if we cannot find you a group before the event, or if the event is cancelled.
You do not get it back if you choose to leave your group, if your group removes you for not taking part, if we remove you for misleading your group or breaking these terms, or if you join without a ticket and do not add one in time. Your legal rights, including your right to cancel in the UK, are explained in section 9.
You are meeting people you do not know. Meet at the agreed public spot, look after yourself, and report anyone who makes you feel unsafe.
Be decent. Harassment, threats, hate, scams and illegal content are banned and can get you removed.
This summary is to help you. The full terms below are what apply.
1. Who we are
Rally is run by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], a company registered in England and Wales under company number [COMPANY NUMBER], with its registered office at [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("Rally", "we", "us").
These terms are a legal agreement between you and us. They apply when you browse Rally, create an account, join a group or pay a matching fee. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use your personal information.
By creating an account or paying a matching fee, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Rally.
2. What Rally is and is not
Rally is a service that matches people who want to go to the same live event (a gig, a match, a show or a club night, for example) into a small group, gives the group a chat, and helps the group agree a public place to meet before the event.
Rally is not a ticket seller
We do not sell, resell or hold tickets. Event listings on Rally come from ticket sellers and event platforms, including Ticketmaster, Skiddle and Eventbrite. When you follow a link to buy a ticket, you buy it from that seller, under that seller's terms, refund policy and privacy policy. We are not a party to that purchase and we cannot refund tickets, change bookings or answer questions about entry.
Rally is not the event organiser
The promoter, venue or organiser is responsible for the event itself, including whether it goes ahead, who is admitted, and safety inside the venue.
Rally is not a dating service
Groups are for going to events together as a group. Rally is not designed or offered as a dating or introduction service, and you must not use it to look for dates or sexual contact.
We do not screen people
We check that every member has verified an email address (and a phone number, where we ask for one), and that members have told us they have a ticket or have committed to buy one. We do not check tickets, and we do not carry out identity checks, criminal record checks or background checks, and we cannot guarantee who anyone is or how they will behave.
Rally is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Ticketmaster, Skiddle, Eventbrite or any artist, team, venue or promoter. Their names and marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify where an event is sold.
3. Who can use Rally
To create an account you must:
be 18 or over;
be able to enter into a binding contract where you live;
give us true, accurate and current information about yourself, including your real date of birth;
have only one account, and not have had an account removed by us before (unless we have agreed otherwise in writing); and
not be prohibited from using a service like Rally by law, or have been convicted of a sexual or violent offence.
Rally is currently open for events in London and Manchester. You can browse from anywhere, but you can only join groups for events in cities where Rally is open.
4. Your account
When you sign up we ask for your email address, phone number, a password, your first and last name, date of birth and gender, and you may add a photo, display name and username. We send codes to verify your email address and phone number, and you need to verify both before you can join a group.
Keep your password private and do not let anyone else use your account. You are responsible for what happens on your account unless it was caused by our failure to keep it secure. Tell us straight away at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you think someone else has accessed it.
Keep your details up to date in Account. Your age and interests affect who you are matched with, so they need to be accurate.
You can close your account at any time by [using "Delete account" in Account, or] emailing [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of a fee for a group you have already been matched into.
5. How matching works
When you join for an event, we look for other members going to the same event and place you in a small group, usually of four people. To build groups we take into account the event, your age, the interests you have told us about, and the balance of the group. You can read more about this in our Privacy Policy.
We try, but we cannot promise. Whether we can find you a group depends on who else is going. If we cannot place you in a group before the event, we refund your fee (see section 8).
Groups can change. Members may leave, be removed or be replaced, and a group can vote to add another person if there is space. If your group breaks up, we will try to place you in a different one.
The meeting spot. The group votes on a public meeting spot near the venue. You choose whether to go to it.
Leaving. You can leave a group at any time. We will try to place you in another group for the same event. You can leave up to [two] times for the same event; after that we may not match you again for it.
Taking part. Say hello in the group chat or vote on a meeting spot so your group knows you are coming. If you have done neither 48 hours after joining the group (or 24 hours before the event, if that is sooner, and never in the first 12 hours), more than half of the other members can vote to remove you. We will tell you if this happens. You can then ask us to find you a new group for the same event, and your fee carries over to it. If a group removes you twice for the same event, we will not match you again for it.
Blocking. If you block someone, we will not put you in a group with them again.
6. Tickets
If you already have a ticket
Tell us what kind of ticket you have (standing, seated or other) and, if you like, the area, block or section. We use this only to put you in a group with people near you. We do not check tickets and cannot confirm them with the seller, so we rely on you to be honest.
If you join before buying a ticket
For some events you can join a group first and buy your ticket afterwards. If you do this, you must add your ticket (tell us what kind you bought) at least 24 hours before the event starts (we show the exact deadline in the app). If you do not, we will remove you from the group.
Your responsibilities
Only join a group for an event you have, or will buy, a genuine ticket for, and tell us truthfully what kind of ticket it is.
Do not use Rally to buy, sell, swap or tout tickets with other members. Buy tickets only from authorised sellers.
Rally does not check whether your ticket is valid for entry. That is between you and the seller and venue.
7. The matching fee and payment
Matching costs a one-off fee of £5 for each event you join. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout before you confirm, including any taxes. There are no subscriptions and no hidden charges.
Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are not stored by Rally. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to how it processes your payment. Your card provider may charge you fees, for example for payments in a foreign currency.
Free groupings
When a friend you invited creates an account and joins a group, we may give you a free grouping, which you can use instead of paying the fee for one event. Free groupings have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and are not refunded in cash. [State any expiry, e.g. "They expire 12 months after they are issued."] We may change or end the invite scheme, or cancel free groupings obtained through fake accounts, self-referrals or other abuse. Free groupings you have already earned honestly will not be taken away because we end the scheme.
8. When the fee is refunded
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, normally within 5 to 10 working days after we approve them. A free grouping used for an event is returned to your account in the same situations instead of a cash refund.

Nothing in this section affects your legal rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
9. Your right to cancel (UK consumers)
If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have the right to cancel a contract for a service within 14 days of making it, without giving a reason.
Because you want us to start finding you a group straight away, you ask us at checkout to start the service immediately. This means:
if you cancel before we have placed you in a group, we will refund your fee in full;
once we have placed you in a group, the service has been fully provided and, as you acknowledged at checkout, you lose the right to cancel. The refund rules in section 8 still apply.
To cancel, email [SUPPORT EMAIL] with your name, the event and the email address on your account, or use [the cancellation form linked here]. You do not have to use any particular wording. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your request.
10. Meeting in person
Rally introduces you to people you have not met. Most people are just there for the event, but you are responsible for your own safety and decisions.
Meet at the agreed public spot. Do not go to a private address with people you have just met.
Tell a friend where you are going and who you are meeting. Keep your phone charged.
Get to and from the event in your own way. You do not have to leave with your group.
Drink responsibly, keep an eye on your drink, and never feel pressured to do anything you do not want to do.
Do not share your home address, financial details or ticket barcodes with other members.
If you feel unsafe, leave, speak to venue staff or security, and in an emergency call 999 in the UK or 911 in the US. Then report it to us.
We are not responsible for what other members do or say, at the event or anywhere else, except where the law says we are (see section 19). Your dealings with other members are between you and them, but please tell us about anything that worries you so we can act.
11. Community rules
These rules apply in chats, profiles, photos, polls, reports and in person. You must not:
harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, or encourage anyone to harm themselves;
post or send hateful content, or target anyone because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age;
post sexual content, send unwanted sexual messages or advances, or share intimate images of anyone;
post or share anything illegal, including content relating to child sexual abuse, terrorism, fraud, the sale of drugs or weapons, or threats of violence;
scam, defraud or ask other members for money, or advertise, sell or promote anything;
offer to sell, swap or resell tickets in a chat or to another member, or ask anyone to pay you outside Rally. Buy and sell tickets only through the official seller;
offer, ask for, buy, sell or share drugs or other illegal substances, or arrange to use them with other members;
solicit, offer or ask for sex, sexual services or escorting, or offer anything in return for money, gifts or favours;
impersonate anyone, use a fake name, photo or date of birth, or create more than one account;
share anyone else's personal information (such as an address, phone number or photos) without their permission;
use Rally for dating or to look for sexual contact;
join a group without a genuine ticket or a real intention to buy one, or mislead your group about your ticket;
scrape, copy or collect data from Rally, use bots or automated tools, probe or try to get around our security, rate limits or moderation, or interfere with how Rally works; or
help or encourage anyone else to do any of these things.
12. Reports, blocking and moderation
We want Rally to be safe, and we take reports seriously.
Reporting and blocking
You can report a member or a message, or block a member, at any time from your group's page. Blocking is private: the person is not told, and you will never be grouped with them again. Our team reads every report. If a report involves a risk to someone's safety, we act as quickly as we can and may contact the police.
How we moderate
Group chats are filtered automatically. Swearing is replaced with asterisks, and messages that look like threats or harassment may be blocked from sending and sent to our team for review. Messages that mention selling tickets, drugs or paid sexual services are flagged to our team, who may remove them for everyone in the group.
New profile photos are checked by a person before other members can see them.
People on our team review reports and flagged messages. Automated tools help us find content to review, but a person makes decisions to suspend or remove an account.
If we find content or behaviour that breaks these rules or the law, we may remove the content, warn you, remove you from a group, stop you joining groups, or suspend or close your account. We choose what is proportionate, taking into account how serious it is, whether it has happened before and the risk to others.
We may report illegal content and conduct to the police or other authorities, and we keep records we are required to keep.
13. Complaints and appeals
If you are unhappy with Rally, with something another member did, or with a decision we made about you or your content (for example, removing a message, removing you from a group, or suspending your account), please tell us at [SUPPORT EMAIL]. You can also use this route to tell us you think we are not meeting our legal duties to keep users safe.
We will acknowledge your complaint within [2 working days] and aim to give you a full answer within [14 days].
If we took action against your account or content, you can ask us to review the decision. A different person from the one who made it will look at it again, and we will tell you the result and our reasons.
If we got it wrong, we will reverse the decision and restore what we can.
If you are in the UK and we cannot resolve a complaint about our service, you can also contact [an alternative dispute resolution provider, if one is chosen], or Citizens Advice for free consumer advice.
14. Your content
"Your content" means anything you add to Rally, such as your photo, display name, chat messages, poll votes, reports and feedback. You keep ownership of it.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and process your content so we can run, improve and keep Rally safe, for example to show your photo and messages to your group. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except where we need to keep it as explained in our Privacy Policy or where other members have already seen it. We will not use your photo or messages in advertising without asking you first.
You confirm that you have the right to share your content, and that it does not break these terms or anyone else's rights. If you think something on Rally infringes your copyright or other rights, tell us at [LEGAL EMAIL] with enough detail for us to find it.
15. Event information and other sites
Event names, dates, times, venues, images, prices and availability come from ticket sellers and event platforms and are refreshed regularly, but they can change or be wrong. Always check the details with the seller before you buy. Where a price is not provided by the seller we may show an estimated range, which we label as an estimate.
Rally links to other websites, such as ticket sellers. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, ticket sales or how they use your information.
16. Our name and service
The Rally name, logo, design, software and content we create belong to us or our licensors. You may use Rally for your own personal, non-commercial use under these terms. You must not copy, modify, sell, reverse engineer or build a competing service from Rally, except where the law allows you to.
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
17. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close your account, remove you from a group or refuse to match you if:
you seriously or repeatedly break these terms;
we reasonably believe you pose a risk to other members, to us or to anyone else;
you give false information, including about your age or your ticket; or
we have to by law, or a court or authority asks us to.
Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond, and you can appeal as explained in section 13. If we close your account without a good reason under this section, we will refund any fees for events you have not yet attended.
We may stop offering Rally, or Rally in a city, by giving you at least [30 days'] notice. We will refund fees for events that will take place after the service ends.
18. Changes
We may update Rally from time to time, for example to add features, to improve safety or to comply with the law.
We may change these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email or in the app at least [14 days] before it takes effect, unless we need to make it sooner for legal or safety reasons. Changes do not apply to a fee you have already paid, unless they are in your favour. If you do not agree to a change, you can close your account before it takes effect. If you keep using Rally after that, the new terms will apply.
19. Our responsibility to you
This section applies if you live in the UK.
We will provide Rally with reasonable care and skill. If we do not, you have legal rights, including to ask us to put it right or, if we cannot, to a full or partial refund.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it will happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when you agreed to these terms.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for breaching your rights as a consumer.
We are not responsible for the acts of other members, ticket sellers, venues or event organisers, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, except where we have caused or contributed to the loss through our own failure.
Rally is for personal use only. We are not liable to you for any loss of profit, loss of business or loss of business opportunity.
20. Disputes
If you have a problem, please contact us first and we will try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer laws of your home country apply.
21. General
Whole agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and anything you confirm at checkout, are the whole agreement between you and us about Rally.
If part is invalid. If a court decides part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if Rally is sold. We will tell you, and this will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer your account or rights to anyone else.
Third parties. No one else has any rights under these terms, except that other members may benefit from the community rules.
Language. These terms are in English, and the English version applies.
